Scabiosa Fata Morgana

£3.20

Potager Favourite

My all time favourite annual scabious flower with its deliciously dreamy pin cushion flowers. In the most gorgeous creamy, apricot florets sat upon pin cushion flower heads. With their buttery cream frosting petals, aloft strong tall slender stems that waft in the summer breeze, surprisingly captivating to watch.

The flowers are just as beautiful before they fully flower and just as fascinating when they have flowered. They will help attract all kinds of beneficial insects especially butterflies into your gardens and plots. They are sweetly scented and make excellent cut flowers for arrangements and bouquets.

Protect young plants from slug damage and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.

Sow seeds onto moist compost, covering very lightly from March onwards indoors in the warmth or on a heated mat. Once germinated move out into a protected cold greenhouse. Transplant when large enough into individual pots and growing on, plants should be bursting out their pots for planting. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out after the last frosts. Support plants.
