Larkspur Frosted Skies
Potager Favourite
A sublime looking Larkspur flower, with delicate wispy stems. Eau de nil and white petals are washed with brush strokes of pale, smokey lilac shades. These graceful flowers make excellent cut flowers and last over a week in clean fresh water.
Growing over a meter tall these elegant looking stems will need support from the elements and will flower from June until September.
Sow under glass/cold greenhouse in autumn-winter when temperatures naturally fluctuate up and down. This is called stratification and is needed to germinate. Lightly cover with vermiculite and keep in a dry cool place, frost free. Germination can take up to two months. Once your seedlings appear keep in a bright frost free area
If sowing in the spring you will need to mimic these conditions by putting the seed into your freezer/fridge for three weeks. Remove to warmth for germination, keep a lid on your trays. Germination can take up to four weeks.
Pot on seedlings when large enough and give a liquid feed. Acclimatise your seedlings before planting out and all danger of frosts have passed.
Approx: 50 seeds
Height: 1.2m
